Vehicle fire on Hwy 5 near Merritt causing major delays

A vehicle fire in the northbound lane of Highway 5 is causing major delays in Merritt.

The right lane of the northbound road is closed and DriveBC is reporting expected delays of an hour.

According to Kamscan, a semi-trailer reportedly caught fire and other motorists attempted to extinguish the blaze along the highway.
