According to Keremeos RCMP Sergeant Kirsten Marshall, a man and a woman in their late 50s to early 60s were staying at the Cathedral Lakes Lodge in the Similkameen when they went for a hike on Monday. After the two individuals failed to show up for dinner, the lodge conducted a preliminary search of the region.

When Cathedral Lodge could not locate the hikers, Keremeos RCMP was contacted and subsequently search and rescue.

Search and rescue is currently using air services and ATVs in an attempt to locate the hikers.
