The McCall Creek fire west of Peachland is now 100 per cent contained.

The fire started on Friday afternoon and 17 firefighters remained on scene overnight, Rachel Witt, Fire Informational Officer, told KelownaNow.

There are currently seven firefighters at the fire. On Friday, the 1.5-hectare fire was exhibiting some Rank 2 behaviours, as open flames were visible from Peachland.

The fire has now been reduced to Rank 1 fire behaviour. That means it’s a smouldering ground fire.

Witt said smoke might be more visible in the next few days in the Peachland area, as crews continue the mop up operations.
