A photographer from Penticton is getting some glory for an eye-opening photo of two bighorn sheep butting heads.

Bruce Turnbull, from Penticton, captured the stunning photo which placed second in BC SPCA’s 2016 Wildlife-In-Focus photo contest in the wild settings category.

Participants each submitted photos in one of two categories including backyard habitats, which highlights wild animals in our backyards, and wild settings that feature animals in their natural habitats.

“With more than 700 photos submitted, it was a challenge for the contest judges to highlight only a few of the many amazing photos celebrating B.C.’s diverse wildlife,” said Dr. Sara Dubois with the BC SPCA. “We want to thank all the participants for sharing their amazing photos and helping to raise more than $13,800 for wild animals in need.”

First prize winners in both categories will be featured in the Spring 2017 Animal Sense magazine and the top three in each category will receive great prizes that will include a variety of gifts from participating businesses.

You can check out the winners online at the SPCA website.
