My name is Jessica Lichon. I am a 20 something from Kelowna, British Columbia. I have a passion for adventure and making my imagination come alive through photography.

I have always had a vivid imagination. My pictures are full of imagination and are able to transport you into a different world where women are the only beings surrounded by nature.

Why do you use Instagram?

I primarily use Instagram to connect with people from various online communities. Viewing others conceptual photographs always inspires me and Instagram serves as a great way to share my work. I also enjoy sharing my conceptual photographs for others to enjoy, and to find other creatives to collaborate with from the Okanagan Valley. I love collaborating with models, floral designers, fashion designers, hair-stylist, and make-up artists!

What will people see on your feed?

A mix of landscape/portrait photography that tends to be very creative/fantasy themed. My feed is filled with empowering images of women in the natural environment. Strolling through my feed you’ll also see colourful gardens, cotton candy skies, reflective lakes, snow covered landscapes, and powerful waterfalls.

Do you have a specific style?

Yes, my Instagram feed is filled with conceptual photographs. My images are a combination of photoshop and photography to capture images that create a narrative. It's typically a split between fairy-tale and dark imagery. I really enjoy playing around with colours on photoshop.

Why do you follow KelownaNow?

I follow KelownaNow on Instagram to look at the images posted daily. The images selected on KelownaNow's feed are always reposts of pictures taken that day. I love looking at people's unique perspective of Kelowna.

How do you decide on your location for shoots?

I am constantly inspired by the natural environment around me. I usually start a concept with a location in mind or with a concept that requires a specific location. The Okanagan is beautiful all year long; every season brings its own characteristics, ranging from snow covered landscapes to burnt forest. One of my favourite images is a picture of me that looks like I'm drowning in the Okanagan lake with the Shelter Cover forest fire in the backdrop.

Biggest Instagram moment?

My biggest Instagram moment would be the friends I’ve made through the app. The people I've met through it have become life long friends!

Favourite hashtags?

My go to hashtags are usually geographical.
