I'm an Australian-Canadian Landscape photographer with a passion for maps, exploration and far flung mountain ranges. I have lived in 3 different provinces of Canada over the past 10 years but am currently living in Canmore, Alberta. I grew up in Tasmania in an artistic household, played Australian football, & explored the outdoors.
Why do you use Instagram?
I use Instagram as one way to share the work that I do as an artist/photographer. It's currently one of the most engaging online platforms so the ability to put yourself out there and be seen is second to none. On top of that you can easily connect with others who share the same interests.
What will people see on your feed?
A whole collection of unique moments in time centered around exploring the outdoors and being creative with the camera. Lots of mountains and astrophotography!
Does your page have a specific style?
I think over time Ive built up a bit of a dark and dramatic look although that's been unintentional. I tend to shoot around the edge of the day or at night and love photographing unique phenomena like the northern lights, moon halos and fog.

Why do you follow KelownaNow?
I lived for almost 4 years between Vernon and Lake Country and still enjoy seeing images from the area. Best place in Canada come Spring time!
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
It's often not centered around photography and more on visiting a spot I haven't been before; a new trail, lake, mountain top or angle. I try to go at a time that will present me with a unique opportunity that I haven't seen before or keep spots I see on these explorations in my memory to return at to at a specific time. If the shoot doesn't go well nothing is lost as you've discovered something new to you.
Biggest Instagram moment?
Being noticed by my first commercial client through it. A couple of images received a lot of attention too including one from near the Okanagan Valley taken from the top of the Camel's Hump at sunrise. It's titled, "The Heart of British Columbia".
