The school in Kelowna has started a campaign to help collect medical supplies for those in need.

The University of British Columbia Student Union Okanagan (UBCSUO) is working with “the Not Just Tourists” medical project to start a month long drive to get medical supplies for Syrians. An estimated 25 per cent of deaths in Syria are a result of not having enough proper medical supplies and equipment.

Since the Syrian crisis began a group of volunteers in the province have been working together to ship medical supplies over to Syria. So far nine containers have been shipped and they’re currently working on their 10th.

UBCSUO wanted to join in and help so from Monday to Friday for the next month people can donate highly needed medical supplies.

Donations can be dropped off at the UBCSUO office at 3272 University Way, between 9-4:30 p.m.

All donations will be shipped to field hospitals inside Syria. Donations will be accepted until February 17th
