A UBC-Okanagan professor wants to know more about the people who are skeptical, or even deny the facts of climate change.

Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies Sustainability Professor Greg Garrard will host a three-day workshop. The Cultures of Denial -International Perspectives on Climate Skepticism in June. The workshop will involve a team of international Humanities researchers who will examine climate skeptics. They will ask questions such as who are they? What view of science and nature do they hold? Are they all conservatives? Is there any meaningful difference between ‘skepticism’ and ‘denialism’?

As part of the workshop on campus, UBC will host a panel discussion about this topic, open to the public, at the Kelowna Art Gallery, Tues. Jun 7, at 6 p.m. The workshop is also open to the public but has a registration fee. To find out more details, and to register for the workshop, contact greg.garrard@ubc.ca by Mon., May 30.
