The motivation to better the world, paired with a passion for running, is about to take Brandy Hagel on an amazing adventure.

Hagel, a third year nursing student at UBCO, is preparing for an eight day ultramarathon across Haiti.

She is part of Team Tassy, a fundraising group that has organized an eight-day 371-kilometre ultra-marathon across the entire country to raise money for the creation of sustainable jobs for families in Haiti.

It’s a great cause and an exciting story.

KelownaNow caught up with Brandy to learn about her intense training, the people of Haiti and what inspires her to give back to the impoverished country.
