UBCO Heat Saturday roundup: Heat Volleyball teams play hard on home court

The UBCO Women's volleyball team hosted a thriller on their home court last night.

The visiting #3 ranked Trinity Western Spartans were down 19-18 in the final points of the final game but staged an electrifying come back off of three straight spikes to UBCO's side of the net. The Heat got back within two but the Spartans finished off the match with another huge spike to take the Saturday nights game.

The Spartans had a slight edge statistically, finishing ahead 57-55 in kills, .167-.121 in hitting percentage, and 15-11 in blocks but both squads played an impressive match.

The UBCO Men's volleyball team was in action against the Spartans Friday night as well.

The Heat were in tough against the #1 ranked Spartans but kept each match close. 

The Spartans top-ranked offense was on point Friday and the Heat struggled to block them eventually falling 25-21, 25-17 and 25-17 falling in straight sets. 

Both teams will do it again Saturday night at the UBCO Gymnasium. The Games start at 5 p.m.
