A psychology professor at UBC Okanagan has been put under regulatory supervision following accusations of sexual harassment and groping.
Dr. Stephen Porter has consented to limitations on his practice and will be placed under regulatory supervision for 18 months, according to The College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
Boundary issues, power differentials, and sexual harassment are listed by the college as reasons for the regulatory supervision and Porter will not be permitted to supervise students, researchers or volunteers “until the supervisor confirms his readiness” and only under supervision.

According to UBCO's faculty website, Porter is a Professor of Psychology specializing in deception detection, forensic investigations and criminal law.
The CBC has reported that one UBCO student alleged she was sexually harassed by Porter. An undergraduate has alleged Porter groped her while attending UBCO.
