The summer vacation days are dwindling people! We understand that work or the summer semester may have tuckered you out, but you don’t have long until your butts will be in chairs and noses will be deep in the books.

You and your crew have a couple of weeks left of freedom – make the most of it!

Here are five activity suggestions that should be on your ‘must-do’ list:

Hippie Hole

This is a little hidden gem at Whatshun Lake in Lumby. It’s a quick and easy 15 minute hike to this water-hole.

Hippie Hole is a great place to relax, jump into the lake and have a great time with friends!

On your way back to the city, be sure to stop at Millie’s Kitchen and ask for Millie! She will recommend you their mushroom swiss burger and you won't be able to resist!

Penticton Channel

If you don’t mind a quick drive to Penticton, you can float the Penticton River Channel! This is perfect for a hot and sunny day in the Okanagan.

All you really need is a floatation device and some friends! Don’t forget water and sunscreen.

You can buy floatation devices at Walmart!

This activity requires a little bit more planning and coordination. It’s helpful to have one car at the beginning and the end of the channel, so that you don't have to walk the 7 km back to your car.

If that doesn't fancy your group, or if it is not possible, rent from Coyote Cruises.

When you’re done having fun in the sun, be sure to go to The Peach! The magical milkshakes and slushies will cool you off!

Osoyoos Lake and Tickleberry’s Ice Cream

This day trip is kind of a drive (1 hr 45mins) but very worth it!

Take a trip to Osoyoos Lake, the warmest lake in the Okanagan. It’s an amazing drive along the lake and you can pack a picnic!

Lake and picnic food, could life be any better? Just make sure you leave semi-early to make the most of your day.

On your way back, just past Oliver, you have to stop at Tickleberry’s Ice Cream.

They offer 72 flavours of ice cream and have delicious homemade fudge!

They close at 5 pm, so make sure you’re on your way back to Kelowna before.

The Pipe Mountain Coaster

If your budget isn’t too constraining, or if you’re currently on the ‘treat yo’self’ train, make a roadie out to Revelstoke and go on the mountain rollercoaster.

It is the most exhilarating ride, because you’re in full control of your cart and how fast or slow you would like to go.

It is recommended not to go too fast, but only because you will miss the amazing view on the way down.

After you’ve caught your breath and you’re feeling a little hungry from the ride, stop at Dose Coffee.

This hip little cafe will cure your hunger and their coffee will calm your senses.

Big White

Yes, Big White Ski Resort is open during the summer season but only until September 2! The mountain is the perfect bike playground and can host many festivals.

Do you remember Cliff Chair? There’s a lake, Rhonda Lake, that is perfect for picnicking. It’s around a 40 min hike from the Village.

You can take a dip in the lake – hopefully it won’t be too cold!

Get that group chat active again and start planning the last bit of your summer! They are definitely the day trips that make the best memories.
