Falkland man identified as person found in Vernon Creek

 The man found dead in Vernon Creek has been identified as John Lennard Nickolas Holowaty.

The 47-year-old, who was most recently from Falkland, was found in the creek on Aug. 20. Two people were walking along a trail between 24th Ave and 34A Street in the morning and that’s when Holowaty was spotted. 

On Aug. 23, the Vernon/North Okanagan RCMP confirmed that the death of Holowaty was not suspicious.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP are continuing to investigate to determine the cause and manner of his death.
