Man charged nearly 2 years after Okanagan robbery

Charges have finally been laid against a suspect after a 2015 robbery in Vernon

In August 2015, a woman who was sleeping in her vehicle parked in a lot near 30th Street and 29th Avenue woke up to the smashing of her vehicle window and a suspect attempting to steal her purse and phone.

The female victim tried to hold on to her possessions and was dragged through the broken window and assaulted before the suspect fled on a bike with her stuff.

The suspect was not identified or arrested at the time of the incident but the investigation continued.

On February 6th, 2017, Shane Gaudry, 31, was charged with robbery.

Gaudry is currently in custody on other unrelated matters. His next court appearance is March 6th.
