Police confirm death of Vernon man was a homicide

The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit (SED MCU) have confirmed that the death of a man who was found dead on the side of the road is being investigated as a homicide.

On Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 at 07:24 a.m., RCMP were called to a report of a body being found near the intersection of Wilson Jackson Road and Jordashe Road.

Dustin Josef Rogers, 26, who lived in Vernon, was later identified as the victim.

Investigators are still looking into the man's death and are piecing together a timeline of Rogers’ activities on the days prior to his body being discovered.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact RCMP.
