The search for Alexander Boucher came to a successful end today.

The 36-year-old, who’s wanted for attempted murder and more in connection to a stabbing in August, was spotted by an off-duty RCMP officer in Coldstream around 9:45 am.

When she drove by the man, his appearance caught her eye and she put it together that it was the wanted Boucher.

She called frontline officers for assistance and followed Boucher to provide them with updates on his location.

“It was the quick thinking and coordinated response by our team that led to the arrest of a potentially dangerous person safely, and without incident,” said Cst. Chris Terleski.

Once officers arrived, Boucher fled on foot and led them on a brief foot pursuit through residential properties.

He was eventually contained and arrested without incident in a nearby park.

Boucher remains in custody as he awaits a court appearance.
