Man who disappeared into Okanagan Lake while fleeing police found alive

The 38-year-old who disappeared into Okanagan Lake on the weekend has been found.

He was last seen entering the lake in an attempt to flee from police officers in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It was initially believed that the man didn’t resurface, but RCMP confirm that he was able to swim across the lake and has been found safe and sound.

The RCMP initially responded to a complaint about the man acting suspiciously in the 8700 block of Okanagan Landing Road.
 

When officers arrived in the area, the had a verbal interaction with the man who became aggressive with police and fled towards Okanagan Lake.

As the RCMP set up a containment of the area, splashing was heard from the lake and police spotted the individual disappearing into the water.
