A North Okanagan resident helped RCMP officers take an impaired driver off the road Tuesday.
A member of the public called Mounties at about 12:15 am to report a possible impaired driver leaving Vernon, headed northbound on Hwy 97.
An officer responded to the report and began patrolling for the vehicle.
The vehicle was eventually tracked down and stopped on Hwy 97A near the intersection of Back Enderby Road.

The officer believed the female driver’s ability to operate her vehicle was impaired by alcohol and transported her back to the detachment.
The 45-year-old woman provided breath samples that exceeded the legal limit.
She was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and had her vehicle impounded for 30 days,
In a news release, the Vernon RCMP say she was also charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for operating an uninsured vehicle and having open liquor in her vehicle.
She was released from custody with a court date.
“The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP want to thank the public for their assistance in continuing to report dangerous or suspected impaired drivers,” says Cst. Christ Terleski in the news release.
