Royals begin 3 game road trip in Prince George

The Victoria Royals are on route to Prince George for the first of a three-game road trip on the mainland.

The Royals were initially scheduled to play in Prince George tonight but were forced to postpone until January 18th due to adverse weather conditions. Instead, the Royals begin their three-game road trip in Prince George Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. before heading to Kamloops on Friday and Kelowna on Saturday.

After playing a tough four-game series against the Cougars, the Royals are looking to get their first win against their B.C. rival. The team will be pushing ahead without nine of their roster players due to injuries, but they’re confident that their young lineup can head into the CN Centre and get the job done.

“I’m really pleased with the effort our players are putting in,” GM & Head Coach Dan Price said. “A lot of our young guys are stepping up and playing very well. They know they can play against any player or team in the league, so they’re comfortable with any match up.”

On Thursday, the team travels to Kamloops to prepare for their game against the Blazers Friday night at the Sandman Centre. The last time the Royals faced the Blazers was October 12th and 13th at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre where Kamloops was the winner of both back-to-back games.

Finally on Saturday, the team is in Kelowna to take on the Rockets at Prosper Place. The Royals were able to make headway the last time they played the Rockets, winning the October 8th game at home 6-3.

Victoria’s next home game will be on November 5th when the team plays Kamloops in the Royals Country Bash at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre. Then on Saturday, November 6th, the club celebrates our Canadian Armed Forces and their families on Canadian Armed Forces Military Appreciation Night. For this game, the team will be honouring our military members and families with a special jersey to be auctioned off with proceeds going towards the Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre.

For tickets to the November 5th and 6th games, visit the Victoria Royals ticketing page or call the Select Your Ticket box office at 250-220-7777.
