With Halloween on the horizon, British Columbians are still mulling over the new order issued by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry.

Gatherings in private homes are now limited to members of your household plus six guests.

With cases of COVID-19 surging, Henry actually said, in some cases, even six is too many. But are people willing to follow the rules? When we asked Kelowna residents, some people are quite supportive of it.

But others find it to be an overreach by public health officials. "I just believe the government is just trying to tell people what to do," said one Kelowna woman.  And others say they expect that many will ignore it altogether.

"I think that people are going to try to get together on the side and probably break the law," said one man outside a Kelowna costume shop. When asked if people will likely abide by the rule another woman gave a flat "no".

The Ministry of Health is encouraging people to make it a consistent 'safe six' group of people as well, suggesting that people outside that six should visit on other occasions, but the order on specifies simply that no more than 6 people from outside the household at one time.

Furthermore, it's not an order, but Dr. Henry has also said that the wearing of masks in public indoor spaces is now an "expectation".
