It's International Autism Awareness Day. And it's Autism month. That's why a group of people parked some fancy cars beside the off-ramp of the Bennett Bridge this morning.

The Pacific Autism Family Network has a new facility in Kelowna, and a contest is underway to raise funds for it.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that impacts brain development causing most individuals to experience communication problems, difficulty with social interactions and a tendency to repeat specific patterns of behaviour.

A recent report by the National Autism Spectrum Disorder Surveillance System estimates it affects 1 in 66 children in Canada.

For more details about the contest and the Pacific Family Autism Network check out their Facebook page.
