Remember the excitement you had when you were heading off to camp as a kid? Women in Kelowna sure do. So they're looking forward to recapturing that feeling at an event tomorrow night at the Laurel Packinghouse. It's called Camp Hoo-Ha. Camp Director Joanna Schlosser stopped-in at KelownaNow to tell us all about it.

"Booze, badges and belly laughs,' promises Schlosser, who is organizing Kelowna's second Camp Hoo-Ha.

It's an idea that started in Calgary, before expanding into places like Edmonton, Saskatoon and now Kelowna. Each camp Hoo-ha includes wine, but each one features a different area for skill building. Tomorrow, it's cooking. After some wine from Niche Wine Company and dinner, Chef Shaften from Krafty Kitchen will give a presentation. All participants go home with a badge.

Schlosser said almost anyone can be part of it. "Campers come from all walks of life," she added, "including moms, entrepreneurs, grandmas, single professionals and more."

The emphasis is on fun said Schlosser, "That's why we serve the food and drinks first!" she said with a laugh." And most importantly it's creating great new connections among the campers. "It's a growing group of women," she said, "that want to connect and have fun together."

The Thursday night event starts at 6:30, and tickets are still available.
