Speed Kills. It's a slogan that reads true in some frightening statistics from the BC Coroners Service. Fatalities are happening at more than double the rate they were just a year ago and speed is more to blame than any other factor.
"Most of the time it's the attitude that's going to get people into trouble," said motorcycle driving instructor Daryle Greenizan. "Sometimes you simply suggest they don't ride." Greenizan stopped-by at KelownaNow to talk about this disturbing trend.
Greenizan says more young people are getting professional training than ever before. But the wrong mental approach can quickly undo all the benefits of that knowledge.
Greenizan said he's told some riders "You're just not in the right mindset to ride."
Along with speed, alcohol is also a leading factor in the spike in motorcycle deaths.
