(Original story: May 14 @ 4:30 pm): There are just a small handful of stores currently open in Orchard Park Mall, but that's expected to change dramatically on Tuesday.

We spoke with the newly hired manager at Showcase which has been open through the entire COVID-19 pandemic.

Needless to say, Kimberlea Hilsabeck said she'll be happy to see the additional foot traffic.

Stores including Garage and Pandora are expected to be open Tuesday, while others, including Reitmans, will open at a later date.

Hair Salons, including Bogie and Bacall, are still waiting for a clear signal from the authorities that they are free to open.

"I'm expecting it to be busier than it is now obviously," said Hilsabeck.

"I'm hoping 30% or 40% of the stores will be opening."

She said she's seen several stores preparing for their reopenings, but many others are still showing no signs of life.

"I know there's certain places that don't look like there's anything going on inside," she said.

"So we're not sure if they're going to open or not.

"We're hoping that the whole mall will get close to opening," Hilsabeck added, "if not right on Tuesday, then shortly after."

The mall moves to the hours of 11 am to 6 pm starting Tuesday, and based on its communication with retailers, 45 stores are expected to be open with more opening over the next couple of weeks.
