Some call it Anti-Bullying Day, some call it Pink Shirt Day. But judging from the number of pink shirts out there today, many people believe that we could use more kindness and inclusivity in our world, and it's worth taking a day to make the point.

There were special events at schools across the school district. At Dr. Knox Middle School it's a big day.

"Our theme today is 'belonging'" said Teacher/Organizer Darcey King. "We really focus on trying to get kids in doing the carnival and being part of activities, multi-grade, grade 7 to grade 9 all interacting and being like-minded and doing things they love to do."

"Belonging is our focus this week,' said Teacher Jaci Guignard, "however we have a full month of Fabulous February which fits in lovely with our school goal of belonging."

"Students need to feel connected and have friends that are going to be their allies," said King.

The four core virtues the school promotes are belonging, kindness, positivity and gratitude.
