You may know her as the former co-host of New Country 100.7's nationally syndicated radio show with Casey Clarke.  But today, Roo Phelps is getting noticed for her detailed tell-all book about the devastating impact of the breakup of a relationship. 11 Weeks, is a book written in real time as Phelps came to grips with her split-up.

Phelps' relationship breakup isn't the only one she has gone through. In our interview at KelownaNow she describes her decision to leave her syndicated radio show as terrifying. "Absolutely terrifying," she said. "But you do something for so long, i just needed to know are there other things I can do?"

Phelps had been struggling with writing some fiction when her relationship ended, so she switched her focus to real life.  "When the break-up happened, this book just poured out of me," she said, "I don't know how I could not have written it if I tried."

She said the writing process helped her through a difficult time. "Incredibly Cathartic," was her description. "There were times when I would sit at my laptop and cry and cry and cry, but that's what I think I needed to do to just get it out."

After a week for sale on Amazon, the book has risen to #1 Best Seller status in two categories.
