It's being billed as the first licensed talent agency in Kelowna. The Teresa May Agency is calling on local people with an interest in film and T.V. productions to sign-up.

"As you know, our talent base is growing," said Teresa May. "The film industry is coming here.  We just had a major studio that is visiting and looking at filming here," May told KelownaNow. "We do need actors, we do need background extras and people to be a part of it."

May said there's room for a Kelowna-based talent agency, because producers keep looking to Vancouver for their talent pool. She said her company will bring opportunities to local people while saving production costs for the film and TV producers.. "Why send them down to Vancouver to do auditions, or have those producers bring the talent from Vancouver?"

A meet and greet event is planned for 3:00 pm Sunday at the Kanata Hotel and Convention Centre. There will be a list of speakers with an interest in the local Film and TV industry.
