As the year comes to a close, take a look at our 2019 video rewind.
We looked at our most viewed videos on YouTube for this year to gather a top-five list (with a shocking honourable mention at the end).
#5. "No pants, no service"
At number five is perhaps our most bizarre story.
It was a normal lunchtime crowd at the Naked Cafe when a customer assumed the name of the cafe also applied for the dress code.
Despite the public indecency, the server on shift took the ordeal light-heartedly and reiterated the story to us.
#4. "Street people talk about supportive housing" and 3."Tent city relocated"
We've included these two videos together in our list.
In mid-July, we visited Leon Avenue as tents started to populate the streets and sidewalks.
We talked to some individuals who explained their current situation and expressed their opinions on supportive housing.
In late November, people tenting on Leon Avenue were told to pack up all their belongings and leave the area.
The City of Kelowna decided on two spots for temporary overnight shelter, a section at the base of Knox Mountain Park and a park off Recreation Avenue.
#2. Jordin Tootoo opens up on mental health, addiction and suicide
In September, Jordin Tootoo was a guest speaker for an event called 'This Is What Hope Looks Like' hosted by Third Space Life Charity.
Tootoo was kind enough to stop into KelownaNow for an interview where he openly speaks on growing up in Rankin Inlet, the loss of his brother and his battle with alcoholism.
#1. Stolen dog 'Atlas' returned home to owners
This story created a roller coaster of emotions.
A beloved golden retriever was returned to its rightful owners after reportedly being lured out of his backyard and stolen.
The community came together to give support and spread awareness in the days leading to the return of the dog and the reunion with the whole family was captured below.
(Honourable mention) Kelowna local imprisoned in Trinidad over keychain
Brian Doubt, the owner of Sergeant Preppers Army Surplus was just passing through the airport in Trinidad on the way home to Kelowna when a security staffer noticed his spent bullet casing key fobs. What happened next was the stuff of nightmares.
He was imprisoned for a week in a Trinidad maximum security prison.
This video was, in fact, our most viewed of 2019 gaining 53,000 views.
We chose not to include this video on our top five list due to the video gaining traction and videos in Trinidad rather than locally.
But, here it is in its 20-minute entirety.
