If you’re looking for a way to make the most of your weekend, we are here to tell you about the notable events and activities coming to town.

 

Here is your Weekend Need to KNow!

Okanagan Eats Food Show

Attention foodies, the weekend you’ve been waiting for is finally here! The third annual Okanagan Eats event is hitting the Kelowna Curling Club this Friday and Saturday.

Grab your pals and get ready to sample your way through the flavours of the Okanagan, learn kitchen skills from some of the provinces brightest culinary masters, and sip back some delicious craft brews, cider and wine!

The event runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from noon till 9 a.m. on Saturday! Admission is $20 at the door.

Artisan Day at the Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market

Head over to the corner of Springfield and Dilworth between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. to celebrate the talents of local artisans at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market!

Whilst picking up your weekly fresh produce, visit with the crafters and creators of the Okanagan to learn more about their one-of-a-kind, handmade items.

 24th Annual Kelowna Boat Show

Looking to buy a new water toy, learn about the latest in marine technology or simply spend a day lakeside? If so, you won’t want to miss out on the 24th annual Kelowna Boat Show!

Hosted by the Kelowna Yacht Club, the event welcomes one and all to spend a day on the waterfront to see what local retailers have to offer, drool over boats of all makes and models — in addition to supporting various community initiatives put forward by the club with admission by donation.

The excitement will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday!

Vaisakhi Parade 

Get ready for a cultural celebration like no other this Saturday.

Starting at noon the Vaisakhi festivities will begin at the Okanagan Sikh Temple, this worldwide event celebrates the Sikh New Year and harvest spring festival.

Prior to a parade of vibrant floats setting out to tour the Rutland neighbourhood in which the temple resides, the community is invited to the parking lot to browse dozens of vendors booths, enjoy delicious traditional cuisine and soak up the lively atmosphere.

Spring Plant Sale

The Kelowna Garden Club will be hosting its annual Spring plant sale this Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

Hosted at Guisachan Heritage Garden, the event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors by browsing their selection of perennials, annuals, grasses, drought tolerant plants, vegetables and herbs.

Bonus: The event will also have a great selection of adorable succulents up for grabs.
