From charity runs and sports games to craft markets and the biggest community events in the city, it is hard to bored while being in Kelowna.

If you’re looking for a way to make the most of your weekend, we are here to tell you about the notable events and activities coming to town. Here is your Weekend Need to KNow!

Pints for a cause

Kettle River Brewing Co. are taping their first kegs of 2019 this Friday and will bring back their adored CinnaBun Pastry Stout, only this time it was given a bit more of a java kick due to the addition of more coffee beans courtesy of Canoe Coffee Roasters.

As if a freshly tapped cask wasn’t reason enough to start your weekend off with a refreshing pint, due to the unfortunate break-in at Canoe’s newly opened location — Kettle River Brewing will be donating half of the proceeds from the cask to them to help cover costs.

$10 nights at Big White

Starting this Friday, Biggie is bringing back their $10 night activities! If you want to hit the slopes while saving a few bucks then this is for you.

Expect $10 lift tickets, rentals, lessons, tubing and dinner deals starting at 3:30 p.m. every Friday!

Adopt-A-Thon

If you are looking to add a furry friend to the family in 2019, this is a great weekend to do it!

Total Pet is teaming up with Paws It Forward to get some sweet and cuddly pups a new home this Saturday. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can visit Total Pet, meet the adoptable pets and volunteers before taking home your new addition.

Community Vegan Potluck

For our vegan readers, if you are looking to chow down with like-minded individuals all the while supporting our animal friends.

For just $5 and a tasty, plant-based dish you can join Arion Therapeutic Farms for their monthly vegan potluck. Bring your favourite vegan treat, and meet new people from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Saturday night.

All proceeds will go back into the farm and the animals they house.

Holistic Market and Psychic Fair

This Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Laurel Packing House you can learn all about alternative healing, holistic medicine and find all natural products in abundance at the market.

Pop down with a friend to revisit favourite booths or experience it all for the first time and learn something new.

To see a more comprehensive list of events taking place in our community you can head to our events calendar! If you would like the Now you KNow cruiser to be at your next event, send an email to events@kelownanow.com.
