West Kelowna Recruiting On-Call Firefighters

West Kelowna Fire Rescue will be accepting applications for paid, on-call firefighter positions until 4 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016.

For those interested, the Fire Department is hosting two information sessions Wednesday, Jan. 6 and Thursday, Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. at Station 34, 3399 Gates Road, West Kelowna.

Application packages are available at their website (www.westkelownacity.ca/firerescue), under “Firefighting as a Career.”

Application packages can also be picked up at Station 32 at 2708 Olalla Road, West Kelowna.

Complete application packages are to be submitted in person at Station 32 at 2708 Olalla Rd., West Kelowna.

According to a release from the organization, no previously submitted applications have been kept on file, and only new applications will be reviewed.

Completed application packages must include a completed application form, a current driver’s abstract –with no more than six points and no prohibitions or suspensions in the past three years—a current resume, a clear criminal record check, and a doctor’s consent form.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and a current resident of the City of West Kelowna or Westbank First Nation at the time of application.
