There’s good news for users of Rotary Trails Park in West Kelowna as the park has been reopened following spring flooding.

On April 20, Parks Department staff closed the park as Powers Creek overflowed, flooding low lying areas of the park.

“Rotary Trails Park is quite a low park, it’s next to the lake. It’s not uncommon for Powers Creek to overflow,” explained Kirsten Jones, Communication Supervisor.

Just over a week later park staff have deemed the park safe and have reopened access to residents and visitors. The park is accessed from Gellatly Road in West Kelowna and will be reopened on Friday.
