Golfers at Shannon Lake Golf Club may be getting some unwanted noises in their backswings over the next little while.

The City of West Kelowna has advised that blasting in the area will begin today, but the city hasn't provided an end date.

It’s part of the residential subdivision development for the extension of Tallus Ridge Drive, for Phases 10 and 11 of the Tallus Ridge project.

They’ll be doing work between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and blasting could occur at any time.

Safety horns will sound before the blast and once the area is cleared.
