Boil water notice issued by Westbank First Nation after main break creates sinkhole in road

A boil water notice has been issued for some Westbank residents after a main break created a sinkhole on a road.

Sonoma Pines and the Lakeview Ridge apartment development are affected by the notice.

Westbank First Nation said late last night that crews working to repair the break but the boil water notice will have to remain in place until samples can be analyzed and returned on Saturday. 

The roundabout at Carrington and Butt Roads and Sonoma Pines Drive, meanwhile, will be closed until repairs to the road are completed. 

WFN said the water main break occurred on Thursday afternoon, creating a sinkhole near the roundabout.
