Around 80 properties in West Kelowna are without water today.

The City of West Kelowna has been forced to shut off water to a portion of Boucherie Centre due to an emergency valve replacement.

Residents living on Applegreen Court, Hewl Road and part of Ponderosa Road off Ross Road will experience water service disruptions today.

The City is working with the contractor involved to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

“A boil water notice, put in place yesterday evening, remains in effect for the area due to a separate emergency valve replacement,” said a statement from the City.

“(It) means all users should use boiled water, or an alternate, safe source for drinking, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing food, making beverages and ice and mixing baby formula.”

Residents can get free water from the bulk water station at Shannon Lake Road and Asquith Road.
