Rotary Park will be closed for a little over a month so the City of West Kelowna can complete some restoration work.

There was damage to the area in 2017 and 2018 due to floods and high water levels.

The City said it would reinstall displaced riprap, remove failed retaining walls and repair staircases.

Habitat and park landscaping will also be restored.

The closure is from Sept. 11 to Oct. 15.

“The work will preserve shoreline habitat and prevent erosion ensuring the waterfront park remains around for all to enjoy for many decades to come,” the City explained.

The City recommended residents and visitors go to Gellatly Dog Beach, CNR Wharf and Willow Beach – among others – to make the most of September in the city.
