Deceased individual identified as missing West Kelowna teen

The RCMP have identified the body found in West Kelowna over the weekend.

Officers responded to the 3200 block of Cougar Road at 11 a.m. on Saturday after being informed of the discovery of a deceased individual alongside MacDougall Creek.

“RCMP can confirm that the deceased male has now been positively identified, by the BC Coroners Service, as missing youth, Jake Fehr,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “We are profoundly saddened by this discovery, our deepest sympathy is extended to Jake’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

The 17-year-old Fehr was originally reported missing on July 16th after being last seen on July 13th.

His family has respectfully requested that their privacy be respected during their time of grief.

West Kelowna RCMP continue to assist in the ongoing investigation, which has now been handed over to the BC Coroners Service.

Fehr’s death is believed not to be suspicious in nature.
