(UPDATE: June 30 @ 11:45 am) - A boil water notice previously in place for the Sunnyside/Pitchard service area of the Lakeview-Rose Valley water system has been rescinded.
As of now, the entire Lakeview-Rose Valley water system remains under a water quality advisory due to turbidity in the Rose Valley Reservoir.
Under a water quality advisory, it is recommended that children, the elderly and those with a weakened immune system bring water to a rolling boil for one minutes before consumption of any form.
The bulk filling station at Shannon Lake and Asquith roads is available for residents who need a safe, alternative source of drinking water.

(Original story: June 28 @ 10:40 am) - The bulk of West Kelowna is now under at least a water quality advisory.
Today, the City of West Kelowna and Interior Health issued a water quality advisory for the entire Lakeview-Rose Valley water system due to seasonal turbidity in the Rose Valley Reservoir.
Sunnyside/Pritchard remains under a boil water notice, while no advisories are in place for the Powers Creek water system.
“Turbidity affects the performance of the chlorine disinfection process because bacteria, protozoa, viruses and other microorganisms can attach themselves to suspended particles in the turbid water,” explained a City release.
“These particles can interfere with disinfection by shielding the microorganisms from the chlorine.”
Under a water quality advisory, it is recommended that children, the elderly and those with a weakened immune system bring water to a rolling boil for one minutes before consumption of any form.
With a boil water notice in place, that process should be undertaken by all residents.
