UPDATE: Hwy 97 now clear in West Kelowna, delays still expected

(UPDATE: Aug. 15 @ 8:35 am): The highway is now clear.

DriveBC warned that congestion and delays could continue, however.


(UPDATE: Aug. 15 @ 7:35 am): The northbound turning lane of Hwy 97 has been closed, according to an update from DriveBC.

It comes after an incident at Boucherie Road.

DriveBC added that crews are now at the scene. 

Delays are still expected and motorists are urged to pass cautiously. 


(Original story: Aug. 15 @ 6:39 am): Hwy 97 is closed in both directions in West Kelowna. 

DriveBC said there have been reports of a vehicle incident at Boucherie Road.

Motorists are warned to expect “major delays.” 

Crews, meanwhile, are en route to the scene.
