Man arrested after search of West Kelowna residence uncovers guns, drugs, cash and more

An investigation that started on Jan. 6 into a suspect who was believed to be in possession of prohibited weapons turned into a search of a West Kelowna residence just 13 days later.

The Kelowna RCMP’s drugs and organized crime section executed a search warrant at the resident in the 3000 block of Elliott Road on Jan. 19.

“During the search, officers seized a loaded handgun, multiple magazines of ammunition and two firearm suppressors,” the RCMP explained. 

“Officers also located 10 ounces of suspected cocaine and 10 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, cash and materials consistent with drug trafficking.”

A 49-year-old man was arrested at the scene without incident.

The RCMP said the following charges will be recommended to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada:
