Man in 40s dies after single-vehicle crash in West Kelowna

A man died in a single-vehicle crash along Hwy 97 on Friday, police have confirmed.

It happened near Drought Road in West Kelowna at about 7 pm. 

The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was the only person affected in the crash.

He was in his 40s and from the Okanagan, BC Highway Patrol said. 

Cpl. Mike Haslkov added: “At this time, it appears driver impairment, failure to wear seatbelt and using an electronic device while driving were contributing factors to this crash.”

BC Highway Patrol sought to remind drivers to stay sober, wear seatbelts, avoid distractions and obey speed limits whenever they’re behind the wheel
