Open houses set for West Kelowna’s budget and financial plan

The City of West Kelowna wants to hear input from residents regarding the 2020 Budget and the 2020 to 2024 financial plan.

A series of open house events have been scheduled for the budget consultations: 

The open house on Feb. 5 will focus on viewing designs and providing feedback for the planned upgrades to Glenrosa Road, while the two other consultations will focus on the budget and financial plan. 

According to city officials, the proposed tax increase will be 4.8% is based on an average West Kelowna home valued at $642,582 and help keep pace with inflation, maintain reserves and modernize infrastructure. 

"The impact on your household budget is about $8 more per month for a wide range of city services including aquatic centre, arenas, bylaw compliance, fire/rescue, library, parks, policing, recreation, roads, transit, and more," said City of West Kelowna in a release.
