Shannon Lake residents will be getting some relief on the roads over the winter.

The City of West Kelowna has reopened the Shannon Lake-Bartley-Stevens intersection as of this afternoon and it will remain open until in the spring.

While the intersection has reopened, temporary traffic pattern changes will be in effect throughout the winter season:

The intersection is opening because phase one of construction in the area is now complete and phase two won’t begin until weather improves in the spring.

Phase two will include the completion of the roundabout, installation of sidewalks and addition of bike lanes east of Dominion Road to Westlake Road.

“The entire project is anticipated to be complete in summer 2022, subject to weather conditions and other factors,” the City explained.
