Another sign of spring has arrived in the Okanagan.

Street sweepers are rolling out in West Kelowna for their annual post-winter sweep of the local roads.

They’ll begin at lower elevations and work upwards to higher roads as the snow melts over the coming weeks.

Weather permitting, school zones will be completed over spring break.

Residents are asked to not sweep road debris into piles on the roads as it can significantly slow down the street sweeping process, but rather leave road debris for the sweeper to collect.

Signage will be placed in neighbourhoods to indicate when street sweeping will begin and will remain posted while equipment is working in the area.

Residents are reminded to help out by keeping vehicles parked off street so sweepers can make complete sweeps of the road.

The spring sweep of the city’s 260-kilometre road network is expected to take between six and eight weeks.
