The City of West Kelowna is turning to the public in an effort to identify the driver involved in a single-vehicle crash that caused some serious damage earlier this spring.

Video of the incident, which happened around 5:15 am on April 10, shows the bizarre crash involving an older-model Nissan, believed to be a Pathfinder or Frontier with a canopy.

“Fortunately, the driver appeared to be unharmed,” explained a City release.

“However, the accident resulted in an estimated $35,000 in damages to the bleachers and a fence at Darroch Park – the ballfield adjacent to Mount Boucherie – on East Boundary Road in West Kelowna.”

The City is not seeking any charges against the driver, but is still trying to recover the costs through the appropriate insurance channels.

Anyone with information, or the driver of this vehicle, is urged to come forward and contact the City of West Kelowna at 778-797-1000 or by emailing info@westkelownacity.ca.
