Water quality advisory issued for Westbank First Nation

Westbank First Nation Utilities has issued a water quality advisory for Westbank First Nation IR 9 reserve.

The advisory is effective as of noon today and it due to increased turbidity in the drinking water.

It’ll remain in effect until further notice.

Under this water quality advisory, it’s recommended that children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems only drink boiled water or a safe alternative.

You can get regular updates on the situation and view an interactive map to determine if you reside in the affected area through the Westbank First Nation website.

Otherwise, all residential inquiries can be directed to the WFN Utilities Department at 250-707-3332.

Commercial business inquiries can be directed to the First Nations Health Authority at 778-875-3486.
