The name of the game is solar for a trio of new West Kelowna developments.

Highstreet Ventures has invested more than $1.1 million in solar panels into Carrington View, Carrington Ridge and Neo, three neighbouring condo and rental communities.

That equals 566,700 Watts of solar installed, which can produce enough power on an annual basis to cover the common area electricity needs of all 474 condos and rental apartments.

It’s the largest grouping of residential solar installations in British Columbia.

“At the current price of solar array installs on new buildings, every developer should be installing rooftop solar,” explained Scott Butler, president of Highstreet Ventures. “The math works, and it’s the right thing to do.”

All of the solar panels were built by using Canadian products and installed by Okanagan Solar.

Patrick Monteith of Okanagan Solar said this type of energy efficiency is “no longer a far-off dream” and this trio of developments is a testament to the age in which we now live.
