Like many of the fires roaring around the province, British Columbia’s wildfire situation as a whole remains out of control.

With resources stretched thin and Mother Nature not helping the cause, the provincial government declared a state of emergency on Tuesday.

The early wildfire season has forced a number of evacuations throughout BC, as well as plenty of highway closures that are affecting travel.

Here’s a full list of highways and other transportation services that are affected as of Wednesday afternoon:

For all the latest updates on these highways and other potential closures due to wildfires, visit DriveBC.

There are also a number of non-highway roads that are closed due to various fires, which Transportation BC is monitoring and updating on its website.

Given the current circumstances and the potential for sudden closures, this list could evolve by the hour.

On Tuesday, Hwy 5 closed for multiple hours while crews doused a vehicle fire north of Hope, while Hwy 3 closed briefly near Keremeous this morning due to wildfire activity.
