(UPDATE: June 5, 2018 @ 7 p.m.) - There are 66 BC Wildfire Service personnel on site as of 1:08 p.m. Tuesday who are actively extinguishing hot spots at the 2,739 hectare Allie Creek wildfire.
The Allie Lake wildfire is 100% contained and is classified as "being held" 55 kilometres from Kamloops.
Due to the substantial progress that has been made on containing and suppressing the fire, BC Wildfire Service does not expect the fire to spread and the incident management team assigned to the fire has handed the responsibility back to the local fire zone.
(UPDATE: June 1, 2018 @ 4 p.m.) - The area restriction that had been established around the Allie Lake wildfire northwest of Kamloops has been rescinded.
Firefighting personnel no longer need to restrict public access to operate efficiently in the area.
However, the BC Wildfire Service reminds members of the public that the Allie Lake fire is an active worksite, and they should exercise caution at all times while travelling in the area. Even if an area restriction has been rescinded, officials still have the authority under the Wildfire Act and its regulations to order anyone to leave the area.
Before entering any area affected by wildfire, members of the public should be aware that significant safety hazards may be present. Trees that have been damaged by fire might be unstable and could fall down. Ash pits can be hard to detect and can remain hot long after the flames have died down.
Although the Allie Lake fire is 100% contained, nearby communities can still expect to see smoke within the fire's perimeter over the coming weeks. This is common with large wildfires, and smoke will continue to be visible until there is significant rainfall at the site.
If smoke is appearing from well within the fire perimeter and that area is surrounded by burned material, it's typically not a concern. However, smoke that rises from green, unburned fuel or from outside a fire's perimeter should be reported immediately.

Around noon today, an area restriction for Crown land in the vicinity of the Allie Lake wildfire came into effect in order to accommodate operational requirements.
It is expected to remain in place until noon on Oct. 31, or when the order is rescinded.
The Allie Lake wildfire-area restriction remains in place to protect public safety and to ensure the safety of the public.
This order applied to the Crown lad including:
- North boundary: Commencing north of Young Lake and west of Spectacle Lake 51° 17.382’ x 120° 56.418 heading east toward the north side of Bonaparte Lake, connecting to 51° 17.508’ x -120° 33.816’.
- East boundary: Continue from North boundary 51° 17.508’ x -120° 33.816’ heading south across Bonaparte Lake, along the eastern edge of Elbow Lake and Heller Lake toward Hiahkwah Lake, Home Cabin Lake Road to 51° 6.432’ x 120° 33.534.
- South boundary: Continue from 51° 6.432’ x 120° 33.534 Hiahkwah Lake, Home Cabin Lake Road heading west toward Fatox Lake and Skookum Lake toward Brigade Creek at 51° 6.366 x 120° 56.04.
- West boundary: Continue from at 51° 6.366 x 120° 56.04 by Brigade Creek heading north across Hamilton Creek and then west toward the north side of Young Lake at 51° 17.382’ x 120° 56.418.

Under this order, a person must not remain in or enter the restricted area without prior written authorization.
The person can only enter the area if:
- travelling to or from his or her primary residence
- travelling to or from private or leased property for the purpose of accessing his or her secondary residence or recreational property
- using a highway as defined in the Transportation Act
- travelling as a person acting in an official capacity
- travelling for the purpose of supporting wildfire suppression activities
