UPDATE: Small wildfire along Hwy 97 now considered 'under control'

(UPDATE: April 8 @ 6:40 pm) - A fire along Hwy 97, about 15 kilometres northwest of Cache Creek, is now considered "under control."

"The fire responded well to suppression efforts by the four BC Wildfire personnel who are currently on site," said the latest update from the BC Wildfire Service.

It only reached an estimated 0.2-hectares in size and no word has been given regarding a potential cause.

(Original story: April 8 @ 5:35 pm) - The BC Wildfire Service has sent four personnel to a wildfire around 15 kilometres northwest of Cache Creek.

It’s adjacent to Hwy 97.

According to a tweet from BCWS, the fire is currently considered “out of control.”

Further updates will be provided when crews arrive on site.
